Collection: Organic Red Wine Collection

Discover Organic Red Wines

Explore our extensive selection of certified organic red wines from Australia's premier wine regions, Italy's historic estates, and New Zealand's acclaimed vineyards. Our collection showcases diverse varieties including Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and traditional blends, all produced using sustainable, organic viticulture practices that honour the land and express authentic terroir.

Organic Viticulture Philosophy

Organic wine production eliminates synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilisers, instead employing natural compost, cover crops, beneficial insects, and biodynamic preparations to maintain vineyard health. This approach encourages deeper root systems, enhances soil microbiology, promotes natural vine balance, and produces grapes with concentrated flavours and pure varietal expression. Many wines in our collection are also vegan-friendly and preservative-free, reflecting the highest standards of natural winemaking.

Barossa Valley: Organic Shiraz Heritage

The Barossa Valley in South Australia is home to some of the world's oldest Shiraz vines and pioneering organic producers like Kalleske and Henschke. The region's Mediterranean climate features warm, dry summers, mild winters, and moderate rainfall, creating ideal conditions for organic viticulture with minimal disease pressure. Ancient red-brown earth soils over limestone and clay provide excellent drainage and mineral complexity.

Kalleske, a sixth-generation family estate, farms some of the Barossa's oldest organic vineyards, including century-old Shiraz vines in Greenock. Their organic practices extend to Grenache, Mataro (Mourvèdre), and Tempranillo, showcasing the Barossa's diversity. Barossa organic Shiraz displays concentrated dark fruit, chocolate and spice notes, full body, and velvety tannins with remarkable depth and ageing potential.

Eden Valley: Elevated Elegance

The Eden Valley, situated in the elevated hills east of the Barossa, offers cooler temperatures and higher altitude sites perfect for elegant organic Shiraz. Henschke's legendary Hill of Grace and Mount Edelstone vineyards, farmed organically for decades, demonstrate how organic practices preserve ancient vineyard ecosystems and produce wines of extraordinary finesse and longevity. The region's cool nights, warm days, and ancient weathered soils create Shiraz with refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and complex spice and floral aromatics.

Tasmania: Cool-Climate Organic Pinot Noir

Tasmania's cool maritime climate (42°S latitude) provides ideal conditions for organic Pinot Noir production. Stefano Lubiana, a pioneer in Tasmanian organic viticulture, cultivates vineyards in the Derwent Valley where ancient Jurassic dolerite soils, long growing seasons, and significant diurnal temperature variation produce Pinot Noir of exceptional elegance. The island's clean air, pure water, and low disease pressure make organic farming particularly successful, yielding wines with bright red fruit, floral complexity, fine tannins, and vibrant acidity.

Margaret River: Organic Cabernet Excellence

Western Australia's Margaret River region combines a Mediterranean climate with maritime influences from the Indian Ocean, creating perfect conditions for organic Cabernet Sauvignon. The region's gravelly loam soils over limestone, consistent sea breezes, and dry summers allow organic viticulture to thrive. Margaret River organic Cabernet displays classic blackcurrant and cedar notes, structured tannins, and excellent cellaring potential.

Heathcote: Single Vineyard Shiraz

Victoria's Heathcote region is renowned for its ancient Cambrian soils—some of the oldest viticultural soils on earth—which impart distinctive mineral character to organic Shiraz. The region's continental climate with warm days and cool nights produces Shiraz with intense colour, concentrated fruit, and fine-grained tannins.

Tuscany: Italian Organic Tradition

Our collection features organic Sangiovese and Chianti DOCG from Tuscany, where producers like Poggiotondo and Aquilani practice organic viticulture in the rolling hills between Florence and Siena. Tuscany's Mediterranean climate, with hot summers, mild winters, and well-drained galestro (schist) and alberese (limestone) soils, produces Sangiovese with bright cherry fruit, herbal notes, firm acidity, and savoury complexity. Organic Chianti DOCG adheres to strict regulations whilst embracing sustainable practices that have defined Tuscan agriculture for centuries.

Central Otago: Alpine Organic Pinot Noir

New Zealand's Central Otago produces exceptional organic Pinot Noir in its dramatic alpine environment. The world's southernmost wine region features a continental climate with extreme diurnal temperature shifts, intense sunlight, and schist soils that create Pinot Noir with concentrated dark fruit, silky tannins, and remarkable structure.
