Kalleske Clarry's GSM 2025 is a vibrant, plush and generously flavoured blend of Grenache (48%), Shiraz (36%) and Mataro (16%) from the Kalleske family's certified organic and biodynamic estate in the Barossa Valley. Named in honour of Clarence “Clarry” Kalleske — the fourth generation of the family to tend these vines, farming from the late 1920s until his retirement in the 1990s — Clarry's draws from over a dozen blocks, with the oldest Grenache vines dating to 1940. Deep, dark crimson in colour, revealing aromas of red berries, blueberry pie, fresh cherries, potpourri, spice and musk. The palate is medium-bodied, juicy and immensely flavoursome, with gentle chalky tannins and a long, stylish finish. Vegan, organic and biodynamic certified.

Wine Sellers Direct Verdict
Clarry's GSM is one of the Barossa Valley’s most consistent and rewarding mid-range reds — a wine that delivers genuine old-vine complexity and biodynamic integrity at an accessible price point. The 2025 vintage is a standout release, shaped by warm, dry conditions and lower yields that concentrated flavour without sacrificing the freshness and vibrancy that define the Clarry’s style. At its core, this is a Barossa GSM for buyers who value producer story, sustainable farming and drinking pleasure in equal measure. Exceptionally approachable now, it will also reward cellaring over the next five years.
Who Should Drink This?
Choose Clarry’s GSM 2025 if you: enjoy vibrant, fruit-forward Barossa reds with genuine old-vine character; value certified organic and biodynamic production; are looking for a versatile food wine; or want a reliable, crowd-pleasing red for immediate enjoyment or short-term cellaring.
This wine may not suit you if you prefer: a more structured, oak-driven Barossa Shiraz style — in which case a single-variety Kalleske Shiraz or a Barossa Cabernet may be a stronger choice.
What’s Similar?
Kalleske Moppa Shiraz
More Shiraz-driven, fuller-bodied and more powerful than Clarry’s GSM. A stronger choice for those who prefer weight and structure over the GSM’s fruit-forward vibrancy.
Kalleske Parallax Grenache
Greater Grenache purity and perfume, with less structure and weight. A more delicate expression for those who favour the Grenache character in the blend.
Turkey Flat GSM
Another classic Barossa GSM offering richer fruit and broader texture. A useful comparison for those exploring the style across producers.
Clarry’s GSM 2025 FAQs
What is Clarry’s GSM?
Clarry's GSM is Kalleske's flagship blended red, named in honour of Clarence “Clarry” Kalleske, the fourth generation of the family to farm the Kalleske estate in the Barossa Valley. It is a blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro sourced from over a dozen blocks across the estate, with the oldest Grenache vines dating to 1940.
Why is it called GSM?
GSM stands for Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro — the three grape varieties used in the blend. GSM blends are a classic Rhône-inspired style that have become one of the signature red wine styles of the Barossa Valley.
Is Clarry’s GSM 2025 biodynamic?
Yes — Kalleske is certified organic and biodynamic. Clarry’s GSM 2025 is also vegan friendly.
How long can I cellar Clarry’s GSM 2025?
Clarry's GSM 2025 is approachable now and will cellar beautifully over the next five years.
What makes the 2025 vintage special?
The 2025 vintage delivered wines of exceptional quality, ranking among the finest in Kalleske’s history. Warm, dry conditions and lower yields — shaped by significant growing season frosts and below-average rainfall — produced the earliest harvest since Kalleske began winemaking in 2002, with outstanding concentration and balance.
