Poliziano Colli Senesi Chianti DOCG 2024 is a wine of great elegance and depth from one of Montepulciano’s most celebrated and historically significant estates — certified organic from 2021, crafted with a minimum of intervention, and aged for six months in stainless steel before a further three months of bottle rest. The result is a Chianti of genuine Tuscan character: red fruit, subtle spice, and a persistent, elegant finish that pairs beautifully with roasted white meats and the pleasures of the Tuscan table.

Appearance

Vivid ruby red — the bright, inviting colour of a young Chianti Colli Senesi of genuine freshness and varietal purity.

Aroma

Aromatic and captivating — red fruit leads a refined and expressive bouquet, with subtle spice adding complexity and a distinctly Tuscan character. Fresh, elegant, and immediately appealing.

Palate

Well-structured and refined, with the red fruit character of the nose carrying through to a palate of genuine elegance and depth. The persistent, elegant finish reflects the Poliziano philosophy of letting the natural winemaking process shine through — no additives, minimal mechanical stress, and a wine as natural as possible.

Pairs With

Roasted white meats, grilled chicken, pasta with tomato-based sauces, aged pecorino, and classic Tuscan antipasto. A versatile and food-friendly Chianti that is as at home on a weeknight table as it is at a long Sunday lunch.

Winemaking Notes

The Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG is the result of refined parcel management at Poliziano — mechanical stress on the grapes is reduced to a minimum, no additives are added, and the ultimate goal is a wine as natural as possible. Aged for six months in stainless steel to preserve freshness and varietal character, then left to rest for a further three months in bottle before release. Certified organic from 2021, following Poliziano’s decades-long commitment to sustainable agriculture and the complete elimination of chemicals in the vineyard.

Producer History

Poliziano was founded in 1961 when Dino Carletti purchased 22 hectares in his native Montepulciano and began what has become an enduring wine tradition. The estate takes its name from the Poliziano — the title given to any native of Montepulciano — and pays tribute in particular to the humanist poet and scholar Angelo Ambrogini (1454–1494), known as “il Poliziano”, whose likeness appears in the estate’s logo. For almost twenty years, the winemakers focused on the maximum expression of their wines through natural winemaking processes. In the last two decades, they have dedicated themselves to the geological study of all plots, giving life to two celebrated crus, eliminating chemicals from the vineyard entirely, and progressing step by step to sustainable agriculture — arriving at certified organic status in 2021. A Montepulciano estate of genuine historical significance and modern winemaking integrity.
