Kalleske is a seventh-generation family estate at Greenock in the North-Western Barossa Valley, farming land the Kalleske family has worked since 1853. Winemaker Troy Kalleske established the winery in 2002, producing estate-grown wines from a 120-acre property planted to Shiraz, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon, Chenin Blanc, Mataro, Petit Verdot, Durif, Viognier, Tempranillo and Zinfandel. Vines average 50 years of age, with the oldest block dating to 1875.

Kalleske is the oldest certified organic and biodynamic vineyard and winery in the Barossa, certified since 1998. All wines are estate grown, wild fermented and bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Old Vine Range

The pinnacle of the Kalleske estate. Johann Georg Shiraz is sourced from the oldest vines on the property, planted in 1875, and named after the first Kalleske ancestor to migrate to Australia. Eduard Shiraz draws from blocks planted between 1905 and 1973. Old Vine Grenache comes from the estate’s oldest Grenache vines, planted in 1935.

Single vineyard and estate wines expressing the character of the Kalleske property. Greenock Shiraz, Moppa Shiraz, Merchant Cabernet Sauvignon, Clarry’s GSM, Buckboard Durif, Florentine Chenin Blanc, Elenore Semillon, Fordson Zinfandel, Stryker Petit Verdot and Rosina Rosé.

Experimental Range

Minimal intervention wines exploring the boundaries of the estate’s varieties. Plenarius Viognier (skin contact, no sulphites), Parallax Grenache (early harvest, whole bunch), Zeitgeist Shiraz (unoaked, wild fermented), CCCLXV Durif (365 days on skins) and Lorraine Semscato.
