The 2026 Shaw + Smith Sauvignon Blanc brings together the bright citrus character of Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc with a little more generosity and texture than you might expect. Pink grapefruit, citrus zest and fresh orchard fruit lead the way, supported by vibrant acidity and a beautifully composed palate.

Fruit from Shaw + Smith's certified organic estate vineyards at Balhannah and Lenswood provides the foundation for this 37th release. Careful pressing, cool fermentation and time on yeast lees add subtle depth without losing the freshness that makes this wine so appealing.

Crisp, expressive and easy to enjoy, it's a particularly good choice for seafood, relaxed entertaining or simply a refreshing glass before dinner.

Appearance

Pale and bright, with youthful clarity.

Nose

Fresh pink grapefruit and citrus zest lead, accompanied by delicate orchard-fruit aromas.

Palate

Bright citrus and orchard-fruit flavours meet a generous yet finely balanced palate. Subtle lees-derived texture adds interest, while vibrant acidity keeps the wine lively and refreshing.

Finish

Clean and crisp, with lingering citrus freshness.

Vineyard and Vintage

The 2026 vintage marks the 37th release of Shaw + Smith Sauvignon Blanc.

Fruit was sourced from the producer's certified organic estate vineyards at Balhannah and Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills. The vineyard soils feature loams over clay, with ironstone and quartzite contributing to the site's distinctive growing conditions.

A wetter-than-average spring delayed flowering, followed by a mild summer and cooler conditions towards the end of the season. This encouraged slow, even ripening and the development of pristine, flavourful fruit.

Winemaking

Fruit was carefully pressed and fermented at cool temperatures, with oxygen exposure minimised to preserve freshness and aromatic purity.

Following fermentation, the wine spent time in tank on its yeast lees, developing additional texture and complexity while retaining the bright fruit expression and crisp acidity characteristic of the style.

Food Pairing

A natural partner for fresh oysters, prawns, grilled fish and delicate seafood dishes. Its citrus freshness also works beautifully with goat's cheese, summer salads and lighter dishes featuring fresh herbs.

Equally enjoyable on its own as an aperitif.

Serving and Cellaring

Serve chilled at 6–8°C.

Made for youthful enjoyment, this Sauvignon Blanc is best enjoyed within approximately 18 months of bottling, when its vibrant fruit and refreshing character are at their most expressive.
