Collection: Padthaway | Limestone Coast

Padthaway is a wine region in the northern Limestone Coast of South Australia, located 300 kilometres south of Adelaide. Recognised as an Australian Geographical Indication in 1999, the region covers 345 square kilometres with over 4,000 hectares under vine on terra rossa soils over limestone.

The region is best known for Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The climate is warmer than Coonawarra to the south, with high sunshine hours and low growing season rainfall of 199mm, producing wines of genuine concentration and depth. Irrigation is essential. Spring frosts are a seasonal risk.

Producers including Browns of Padthaway, Farmer's Leap, Landaire, Oparina, Penfolds and Treasury Wine Estates source from the region’s 4,000-plus hectares of estate and grower vineyards.
