Messenger Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2025 is only the second release from the Messenger Vineyard — a site in the southern reaches of Coonawarra’s celebrated Terra Rossa strip, first planted in 1993 and steadily establishing itself as a distinctive expression of Chardonnay within the region. Crafted by winemaker Sue Hodder, the 2025 vintage benefited from an even fruit set and a dry harvest period that delivered outstanding conditions for Coonawarra Chardonnay — fully ripe flavour development at lower sugar levels, resulting in a white wine of layered texture, subtle complexity, and mouth-watering freshness. Appearance
Pale straw with a bright, luminous clarity — the hallmark of a pristine, carefully handled Chardonnay.
Aroma
Pristine fruit aromas of nectarines, white pears, and rockmelon flesh reveal additional layers of lemon meringue and complexing yet subtle white chocolate-like oak. Expressive, refined, and immediately inviting.
Palate
Simultaneously supple and mouth-filling, with fleshy white stone fruit flavours that persist with great focus and length. A creamy undercarriage of melting white chocolate and spotlessly clean acids provide the structure and freshness that carry the wine through to a long, satisfying finish. Layered, precise, and genuinely compelling.
