Appearance
Deep crimson with vibrant ruby hues — showcasing the wine's youthful character and McLaren Vale provenance.
Nose
Perfumed and lifted — opening with notes of blueberry and plum followed by delicate whispers of potpourri. Lifted spicy cloves and vanilla bean spice notes add aromatic complexity. Surprisingly youthful and fresh, with the kind of expressive, multi-layered character that earns international trophies.
Palate
Medium-bodied with tangy acidity that imparts lively energy — fine-grained yet firm tannins creating a captivating, chewy texture. Flavours of fresh red cherry, plum and sultanas mingle with mint and eucalyptus, whilst dry herbs and Chinese five spice contribute to a multi-dimensional experience.
Finish
Long and structured with great depth. Tannins are firm but fine-grained, with lingering spice and fruit character.
Winemaking
Fruit is selected for colour and flavour development, then gently crushed and fermented for 7–10 days at approximately 20°C in small open-top fermenters with hand pump-over and rack-and-return techniques to ensure optimum extraction of tannins and colour. Following fermentation the wine is softly pressed into a combination of French and American oak for natural malolactic fermentation. No animal products are used for fining or filtration — vegan and vegetarian friendly.
