Winery & Vintage Info

Devoted to wine culture for many generations, the Moretti Polegato family, owner of Villa Sandi, have fostered this ancient tradition by making Villa Sandi the headquarters of the winery, and by promoting grape growing in the area on a modern basis.

The roots of Villa Sandi are now intertwined with the destiny of a territory and a wine that is increasingly known and appreciated. Mario gives life to Geox, becoming in a few years one of the top players in the global footwear market. Giancarlo, together with his wife Augusta, brings the quality of Villa Sandi wines all over the world, acquiring and maintaining to this day the leading position in the export of prosecco among producers in the province of Treviso.

The winegrower knows that, over a long period, the yield of a vineyard continues to increase. Then the trend changes: the yield decreases, but the quality of the grapes increases. A natural process that reflects the evolution of Villa Sandi. Since the early 2000s, the vineyard platform in the DOC and DOCG lands of Prosecco is becoming ever wider and various indigenous vines are rediscovered. In 2010 the first major recognition arrives: Cartizze La Rivetta obtains the Tre Bicchieri del Gambero Rosso, an award then won for twelve consecutive years.

Values and skills are handed down, continuing to give life to the history of Villa Sandi. Diva and Leonardo, sons of Giancarlo and Augusta, join the company, renewing the tradition of a family that has been cultivating the future of a territory to be tasted for four generations. Winery Notes
