The 2025 Mystery Wine Chardonnay comes from a highly regarded, award-winning producer on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula — a cool maritime wine region that has been producing premium wines for over forty years and is now recognised as one of Victoria’s most exciting and distinctive growing areas. Complex and lively, with aromas of yellow stone fruits and subtle oak, and a fresh, vibrant palate of nectarine and grapefruit with soft oak on the mid-palate. Tremendous value for a wine of this quality and provenance — and part of the fun is not knowing exactly where it comes from.

Appearance

Pale straw with a bright, luminous clarity — the hallmark of a cool-climate Chardonnay from a maritime growing region.

Aroma

Complex and inviting — yellow stone fruits lead with freshness and definition, with notes of subtle oak adding depth and a gentle creamy character without overwhelming the fruit.

Palate

Fresh and lively, with flavours of nectarine and grapefruit that reflect the cool maritime influence of the Bellarine Peninsula. Soft oak comes through on the mid-palate, adding texture and integration, before a clean and refreshing finish that invites the next glass.

Pairs With

Grilled barramundi, pan-seared scallops, chicken with a creamy sauce, soft-ripened cheeses, and light pasta dishes. A versatile and food-friendly Chardonnay that punches well above its price point.

Winemaking Notes

Sourced from cool maritime vineyards on the Bellarine Peninsula, where the proximity to Port Phillip Bay moderates temperatures and extends the growing season, allowing fruit to develop complexity and intensity whilst retaining natural freshness and acidity. The winemaking approach prioritises clean, intense fruit characters — a philosophy that is evident in the wine’s vibrant nectarine and grapefruit profile and its beautifully integrated oak.

Vintage Conditions

The 2025 vintage from the Bellarine Peninsula delivered fruit of excellent natural balance — the cool maritime climate providing the freshness and acidity that define the region’s best Chardonnays, with sufficient warmth through the growing season to develop the stone fruit complexity and subtle oak integration that make this wine such compelling drinking.
