The Mount Langi Ghiran Cliff Edge Shiraz 2023 is crafted using 100% whole berry ferments in both small open and large open-top concrete fermenters, showcasing the winery's commitment to gentle handling and preserving the purity and finesse that defines this exceptional Grampians estate. The fermentation period of 7-10 days is complemented by a mixture of plunging and pump-overs during an average of 7-10 days on skins, ensuring optimal extraction of colour, flavour, and the powdery tannins that provide an elegant framework for the delicate red florals, berries, liquorice, and broody spice on the palate. The wine is matured for 14 months in French barriques, with 25% new oak, allowing the wine to develop complexity whilst maintaining the remarkable intensity and cool-climate character that speaks to the distinctive terroir of the Grampians region.
