Blue Pyrenees Richardson Shiraz 2022 is a plush yet tense expression of the Pyrenees — sourced entirely from Block 35, a steep north-west facing slope planted in 1996 on one of the highest points of the Blue Pyrenees estate. Aroma of pure blueberry, crushed violets, liquorice, five spice, cardamom, and woodsmoke, framed by well-integrated oak; succulent plum and blueberry on the palate with soft, silky tannins extending to a long, layered finish of great persistence. Appearance
Deep, rich purple with the concentrated, vibrant colour of a Pyrenees Shiraz of genuine elevation and estate character — Block 35, planted 1996, at its expressive best.
Aroma
Pure blueberry and crushed violets lead with freshness and lift, supported by subtle notes of liquorice, five spice, cardamom, and woodsmoke. Well-integrated oak frames the whole with elegance and restraint.
Palate
Plush yet tense — succulent plum and blueberry flow through the mid-palate with genuine depth and layering. Soft, silky tannins extend seamlessly to a long finish of great persistence and complexity. Further evolution will develop with time in bottle.
