History
Jean Grosperrin worked as a Cognac broker in the Cognac region for many years — a profession that took him to countless cellars to evaluate the quality of different batches of eaux-de-vie, and occasionally to discover some very old and exceptional cognacs of rare character and provenance. Practically all vine growers distil their own harvest and conserve, as former generations have done before them, some barrels of Cognac in their cellars — family treasures of extraordinary rarity and value. Since 2004, Jean’s son Guilhem has joined him in seeking out these exceptional and atypical cognacs across all the appellations of Cognac, digging into documents and family histories to provide the detailed descriptions and anecdotes that make each Grosperrin selection a genuinely fascinating and collectible expression of Cognac heritage.
