Foursquare Mandamus Exceptional Cask Selection Mark XXIX is a distinguished 16-year-old Barbados rum from the distillery's acclaimed Exceptional Cask Selection series. Released as Mark XXIX, this full-strength Single Blended Rum combines traditional pot- and column-distilled spirits, matured for ten years in ex-bourbon barrels before spending a further six years in ex-Port casks. Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep amber with rich mahogany highlights.
Nose: Black cherry, stewed plum and marzipan, layered with cinnamon, chocolate and subtle vanilla.
Palate: Rich and concentrated, with dark berries, cherry pie, molasses, baking spices and hints of tobacco.
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering plum, blackberry, toasted coconut and mature oak.
Distillation & Maturation
Mandamus combines pot- and column-distilled Barbados rums matured entirely in the tropical climate of Barbados. Its sixteen-year maturation comprises ten years in ex-bourbon barrels followed by six years in ex-Port casks, allowing the rich fruit character of the wine-seasoned oak to develop alongside the underlying depth of the aged rum.
Foursquare Rum Distillery
