Foursquare Equidem is an exceptional 14-year-old Barbados rum from the distillery's acclaimed Exceptional Cask Selection series. Released as Mark XXVII, this full-strength Single Blended Rum combines traditional pot- and column-distilled spirits, matured for five years in ex-bourbon barrels before spending a further nine years in Black Muscat dessert wine casks. Bottled at 61% ABV, Equidem delivers remarkable depth, balancing concentrated dark fruit, rich caramel and chocolate with warming spice and mature oak.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep amber with rich mahogany highlights.
Nose: Treacle tart, sultanas, ripe nectarine, plum and citrus zest, layered with marzipan and ginger.
Palate: Rich and silky, with caramel, peach, ripe plum, dark cocoa and concentrated summer fruit.
Finish: Long and warming, with black tea, ginger, pepper and lingering oak spice.
Distillation & Maturation
Equidem combines pot- and column-distilled Barbados rums matured entirely in the tropical climate of Barbados. Its fourteen-year maturation comprises five years in ex-bourbon barrels followed by nine years in Black Muscat dessert wine casks, allowing the distinctive fruit character of the wine-seasoned oak to develop alongside the depth of the aged rum.
Foursquare Rum Distillery
