Winery & Vintage Info

The harvest began in mid-September, later than usual. Weather conditions, such as spring frost and hailstorms, significantly reduced yields. 2021 is a vintage marked by success after a constant struggle with hard challenges which allowed to finally obtain an elegant fruity wine.

Forming an amphitheater around the Château, the vineyard is planted on sandy soil created by the deterioration of granite. It is poor, acidic and shallow with rocky outcrops that remind us of the presence of bedrock.

Depending on each parcel, the grapes are partially de-stemmed before undergoing long vatting periods (more than 15 days). Extraction is done by pump-over (remontage), but also by punch down (pigeage), to extract colour, matter and complexity. Fermentation takes place under temperature control. The wine is then aged in vats for several months.

Beyond the wine-growing Burgundy, in its extension to the south, this is where Beaujolais is located. To the north of Lyon, the city of lights and the capital of gastronomy, Beaujolais is home to 10 crus, the largest of which is Brouilly, a few kilometres from Mâcon. You then have to go up the walnut tree alley to arrive at the Château des Tours and discover this splendid building, more than 700 years old, perfectly renovated. There is no doubt that its architecture is reminiscent of the border villages of the golden stones of Beaujolais, which are so famous.
The estate's vineyard benefits from its own microclimate, close to semi-continental and with Mediterranean influences.
