Best's Bin 1 Shiraz 2021 (Great Western) features a deep intensity and ruby red hue, with a bouquet of red and black fruits. The palate offers flavours of red cherries and dark plum, with a touch of cracked black pepper. This medium-bodied wine showcases primary red fruits of red plum and cherry, and a mid-palate layer of pepper spice. It finishes with fine toasty tannins and refreshing acidity for perfect balance. While this vibrant wine pairs well with food now, it will continue to soften and develop complexity over the next 5-12 years. It is an ideal accompaniment to Greek-style slow roasted lamb.

Made from Best’s own vineyards as well as trusted local growers, this wine is meticulously crafted with the same attention to detail as the flagship wines. Bin No. 1 Shiraz represents the essence of Best’s Great Western’s winemaking ideals and the distinction of the Great Western region.

An excellent season with near perfect growing conditions right through to harvest. Adequate winter and spring rainfalls set the wines up to burst into life and sustain beautifully balanced growth throughout the summer. Autumn was ideal with little rainfall and warm conditions to ensure the grapes matured gracefully.
