The Murray Darling Wine Region

Climate – The Murray Darling enjoys a warm continental climate characterised by hot, dry summers and mild winters. The region receives abundant sunshine—averaging over 300 days per year—which ensures consistent ripening and concentrated fruit flavours. Low annual rainfall (around 300mm) necessitates careful irrigation management, allowing vignerons precise control over vine vigour and fruit quality.
