Tahbilk is one of Australia's most historically significant wine estates, established in 1860 and owned by the Purbrick family since 1925. Located in the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria, the estate spans 1,214 hectares along the Goulburn River — a landscape that shapes Tahbilk's defining style: elegant, structured wines with fine tannins and long-term ageing potential.

The estate's original open oak vats, some over 155 years old, remain central to its red winemaking. Fermentation in these vessels produces Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon of genuine character — fruit-driven, cool-climate wines built for cellaring rather than immediate extraction. The 1927 Vines Marsanne is among the oldest Marsanne plantings in the world, producing a white wine of remarkable ageing ability that has become one of Australia's most distinctive regional expressions.
