What Makes Seville Hill Different?
Established in 1991 by the D'Aloisio family, Seville Hill occupies one of the most elevated and cooler vineyard sites in the Yarra Valley. The estate is planted in rich red volcanic soils — relatively rare in the region — and no chemical fertilisers are used in the vineyard. The combination of altitude, terroir and chemical-free viticulture produces wines with genuine structural tension and a flavour profile that reflects the site rather than the market.
The range is broader than most small Yarra Valley producers. Alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Chardonnay, the estate grows Nebbiolo, Barbera, Sangiovese and Tempranillo — Italian varieties that are unusual in the Yarra Valley context and reflect the D'Aloisio family's heritage and ambition to push beyond the regional mainstream.
Who Is Seville Hill For?
Choose Seville Hill if you enjoy: structured, estate-grown cool-climate reds with genuine cellaring potential; Italian varieties grown outside their traditional regions; wines with a clear sense of place; Yarra Valley wines that go beyond Pinot Noir and mainstream Chardonnay; supporting family-owned, single-estate producers.
Seville Hill may not be for you if you prefer: light, delicate Pinot Noir-focused Yarra Valley styles; lean, unoaked high-acid Chardonnay; large-volume, widely distributed brands.
