The 2019 Turkey Flat Butchers Block Red is a medium-bodied palate with red and black berries. Layers of spice, dark plum, cassis and berry fruit adorn the palate - pleasantly held together by fine tannins. Smooth & delicious.

"Grenache (68%), Shiraz  (10%) and Mataro (22%) made by the deft little hands of Mark Bulman.

The Grenache lends it a dark raspberry succulence, and the other grapes layer in spice, earth, dried herbs and flowers, and a sort of black olive tapenade savouriness. It’s medium-bodied, has a lovely bit of chew to the tannin, fine almost ‘mineral’ feel to the acidity, maybe a bit of liquorice oomph too. Finish is firm and long. It’s such a great drink. The Mataro component really drives it along. Highly recommended."

The Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro in the Turkey Flat Butchers Block Red 2019 vintage is vinified & aged individually in French oak barrels before the final blending process. Shiraz adds the generous mouthfeel, Grenache the spice and cherry-like sweetness and Mataro the backbone, savoury edge and fragrance. Balance is crucial, each varietal’s contribution is evident, yet nothing competes for your attention.
