Tasting Notes
Nose: Charred orange, sweet malty biscuits and woodsmoke — the Islay smoke lifts cleanly off a warm, rounded malt base.

Finish: Sweet and smoky, long and smooth. The smoke fades gradually, leaving warmth and a lingering sweetness.
The Blend
The Deacon draws on single malt Scotch from both Islay and Speyside — two regions whose characters sit at opposite ends of the Scotch whisky spectrum. The Islay malt provides the smoke and coastal peat; the Speyside malt brings the sweetness, the malt and the body. Neither overwhelms the other. The name nods to William Brodie — the eighteenth-century Edinburgh deacon by day and outlaw by night — a fitting emblem for a whisky that contains two distinct and contrasting personalities in a single measure.
Serving
The Deacon works across a range of serves. Neat or over a single large ice cube to appreciate the full smoke and fruit character. As a highball with quality ginger beer or soda, where the peat cuts through and the orange note opens up. In Scotch-based cocktails — particularly a Penicillin or a smoky Sour — where the Islay character earns its place without dominating.
