Winery & Vintage Info

Vintage Conditions

The 2025 vintage in Langhorne Creek benefited from early winter rainfall that was light but regular, setting the region up for excellent growing conditions. The warm and dry spring presented challenges for irrigation management but proved ideal for flowering, resulting in good fruit set across all varieties. Summer conditions were generally quite cool, with cooling breezes from Lake Alexandrina playing their usual vital role in maintaining exceptional natural acidity levels in the fruit. These breezes allowed for even ripening and enabled growers to pick the Grenache at optimum ripeness, capturing the variety's fresh, vibrant character.

Winemaking Notes

The winemaking approach prioritised freshness and purity of fruit expression. Grenache grapes were gently pressed to a cold tank where the juice was settled before racking the clear juice off lees to ferment. Fermentation took place at cool temperatures to retain the wine's fresh fruit aromatics, particularly the strawberry and cherry notes characteristic of quality Grenache rosé. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was stored on lees to build texture and body, adding subtle complexity whilst maintaining the wine's delicate, refreshing character. The wine was then carefully blended and filtered before bottling.
