Producer History
The Willett family’s distilling story traces back to 1841, when John David Willett was born in Nelson County, Kentucky — one-third owner and Master Distiller at Moore, Willett & Frenke Distillery, and Master Distiller at four other Kentucky distilleries during his lifetime. Over the generations, the family grew the Willett Distillery to incorporate many labels, including the Johnny Drum Bourbon founded in the 1960s. By 1984, Even and Martha Kulsveen assumed leadership of Willett Distillery — today run by various members of the Kulsveen family, honouring the tradition and vision of the Willett family legacy.
