Vintage Conditions

The 2025 vintage in the Awatere Valley delivered vibrant, balanced wines thanks to a warm spring, excellent fruit set and classic Marlborough ripening conditions. Cooler January weather extended hang time, while warm days and cool nights in February enhanced flavour and freshness of outstanding Awatere Valley cool-climate distinction — wide diurnal temperature swings from low-fertility soils of stones and pebbles mixed with clay and loam, with annual rainfall of just 279–406mm. The result is a Vavasour Sauvignon Blanc of exceptional purity, vivid aromatics and enduring Awatere Valley distinction. Vavasour Wines, Awatere Valley, Marlborough.
