Starward Nova Single Malt Whisky — formerly known as Starward Wine Cask — is Australia’s most celebrated single malt, crowned Best Craft Distilled Whisky in the World in 2016 and Australia’s Best Single Malt Whisky in 2017. Appearance
Red ochre with warm amber depth — the distinctive colour of a whisky shaped entirely by Australian red wine barrels.
Aroma
Bold and inviting — red berries, dark chocolate, and orchard fruit lead a nose that draws directly from the South Australian Shiraz and Australian red wine barrels in which Nova is matured. Rich, expressive, and immediately distinctive.
Palate
Rich chocolate raspberry pudding covered in vanilla, caramel, and spice — a balanced combination of sweetness and savouriness that reflects the wine barrel’s deep integration into the spirit. Bursting with red berries, chocolate, and soft oak spice, the palate is generous and layered without ever losing its elegance.
Finish
Bright red fruit is gradually accompanied by a touch of oak, leading to a soft, long, and tannic finish reminiscent of Australia’s finest red wines. Lingering and deeply satisfying.
