Appearance

Lively crimson with brilliant clarity and a youthful ruby edge, reflecting the wine's fresh vintage character and careful handling from vineyard to bottle.

Aroma

The nose is led by enticing aromas of wild raspberries and dark cherries, beautifully complemented by delicate violet petals. As the wine opens, subtle spice and earthy notes evolve, adding layers of complexity and intrigue that speak to the wine's cool-climate origins.

Palate

On the palate, concentrated flavours provide beautiful texture and depth, whilst maintaining a juicy, approachable character that makes this Pinot Noir wonderfully drinkable. The wine displays a slender, refined structure with silky tannins and a textured finish that lingers pleasantly, balancing elegance with fruit-forward appeal.

Winery & Vintage Info

The Wire Walker masters the skill of balance.  Each year we walk the wire with our Pinot Noir. Knowing how to react to the elements and when to make that next step.  We take measure and precision to craft a wine of balance and poise.

2024 Vintage
Characterised by a dry winter, the growing season started with an early bud burst and a lively canopy growth stimulated by a warm spring, which led us to expect a drought period, but instead, we welcomed rains which set up an ideal soil moisture profile. The grapes ripened consistently and quickly leading to a fast harvest of our white grapes in February and a protracted harvest of the reds in March.

Winemaking
Harvested in the cool of the night. Whole berry fermentation in open vats. Gentle cap management with plunging and pump overs. Pressed at dryness to 75% older French oak. Maturation on fine lees. Natural malolactic fermentation.
