The Oakridge 864 Syrah 2018 (Yarra Valley) vintage displays a vibrant purple colour with a ruby hue. On the nose, this wine is rich and fruit-forward, with aromas of dragonfruit, blueberry, and plum, complemented by hints of cassis. The palate is expansive and concentrated, with a luscious core of blue and purple berries, supported by long, velvety tannins and a subtle line of acidity that keeps the wine perfectly balanced. From start to finish, this wine is pure, succulent, and refined.

Winery & Vintage Info

Oakridge is an award-winning winery located in the heart of Victoria’s oldest wine region Yarra Valley.

Established in 1978, Oakridge has grown to become an internationally recognised producer of award-winning wines.

As a pioneer of the wine growing region of the upper Yarra Valley, Oakridge is known for producing distinctive single-vineyard wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.

The Oakridge 864 range features exceptional wines from specific and single blocks, produced in small quantities and released in only the best years. An Oakridge 864 wine is terroir-driven. Made to demonstrate the importance of time and place with every bottle, and always a tribute to tradition, these wines are ready to drink now or cellar.

All grapes hand harvested and sorted prior to de-stemming 70% of the berries directly to fermenter on top of 30% whole bunches for fermentation. After a three day cold maceration, fermentation spontaneously commenced peaking at 30°C. The fermenter was regularly pumped over and plunged during a three-week fermentation. The wine was then pressed to French oak barrels for a 14 month maturation before blending and bottling.
