Louis Morette Grande Réserve Champagne NV is a bright, elegant, and beautifully balanced non-vintage Champagne from G.H. Martel & C° — one of the Champagne region’s most storied houses, with 154 years of heritage and four generations of the Rapeneau family behind every bottle. A blend of 56% Pinot Noir, 38% Pinot Meunier, and 6% Chardonnay, produced by the traditional Méthode Champenoise with a second fermentation lasting over 24 months to develop the fine bubbles, complexity, and layered character that define great Champagne. Bright golden in colour with a creamy foam, lemon, mineral, and brioche on the nose, and green apple, white flowers, and light cream on the palate, with a lingering, balanced finish. Legendary. In a half bottle.
Tasting Notes
Appearance
Bright golden with fine, persistent bubbles and a creamy foam — the elegant, inviting presentation of a Champagne produced by the traditional Méthode Champenoise with over 24 months of second fermentation, from one of the region’s most celebrated and long-standing houses.
Aroma
Lively and expressive — lemon, mineral, and brioche on the nose, with the freshness, balance, and layered complexity that 154 years of Champagne-making expertise and four generations of the Rapeneau family deliver in every bottle.
Palate
Fresh, balanced, and smooth — green apple, white flowers, and light cream on the palate, with the fine bubbles and creamy mouthfeel that Méthode Champenoise and 24+ months of second fermentation produce. A lingering, elegant finish that speaks to the quality and heritage of Louis Morette.
Pairs With
A natural companion for classic roast chicken, fresh oysters, soft cheeses, smoked salmon, and a decadent final course of fresh whipped cream and sliced stone fruit — Louis Morette Grande Réserve is equally perfect as an aperitif or throughout a special meal. Elegant, versatile, and genuinely celebratory. In a 375ml half bottle, perfect for two.
Production Notes
A blend of 56% Pinot Noir, 38% Pinot Meunier, and 6% Chardonnay, produced by the traditional Méthode Champenoise. After primary fermentation, the wine is bottled and sealed with a crown cap, allowing the second fermentation to occur over 24 months — creating the fine bubbles and layered complexity that define great Champagne. The crown caps are then removed, a dosage of sugar added, and the bottles receive a Champagne cork and cage. A process used for centuries. Ensuring the highest quality wines filled with multiple layers of complexity, fruit, and bubbles.
Producer History
Louis Morette is legendary — the philosophy of G.H. Martel & C° Champagne, celebrating 154 years of heritage and the know-how of the Rapeneau family across four generations of Champagne-making. More than an anniversary, it is an ode to joy and optimism — expressing the personality of a house that has been crafting exceptional Champagne since 1869, with an unwavering commitment to quality, tradition, and the art of the blend. Four generations. One philosophy. Legendary.
