From the Fuji Gotemba Distillery, nestled at the foot of Mount Fuji in the cool highland climate of Shizuoka Prefecture, Fuji Single Grain Japanese Whisky is a signature expression from one of Japan's most distinctive distillery locations. Operating at an elevation of approximately 620 metres with an annual average temperature of 13°C, Fuji Gotemba produces whisky matured in conditions unlike any other Japanese distillery — slower maturation, with a unique microclimate shaped by the mountain's fog, clean air and lush surroundings.
The Fuji Single Grain is a marriage of three different styles of grain whisky — a format that gives the distillery's blenders significant compositional range and the finished whisky a layered, fruit-driven character that is distinctly approachable while remaining genuinely complex. At 46% ABV and non-chill filtered, it delivers real weight and texture in the glass.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Warm amber-gold with golden highlights.
Nose: Generous and inviting — poached pear leads, with rustic fruit tart, marron glacé and a hint of Cognac richness. Soft and approachable with no harsh edges.
Palate: Smooth and layered — poached pear and orange marmalade, raspberry jam and rye spice, with bitter chocolate in the background. Adding water opens red berry notes and a gentle rye bread and cinnamon character.
Finish: Mellow and pleasantly long — subtle sweetness, gentle spice and a smooth, lingering close with a hint of exotic incense.
