Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition is the second chapter in Jameson’s celebrated barrel-swapping story — following the success of the Stout Edition born from a collaboration with Franciscan Well Brewery in 2013, the team at Midleton Distillery turned their curiosity to IPA. Blended Irish whiskey finished in craft Irish Pale Ale-seasoned barrels, Jameson’s signature smoothness remains intact — but rubbing shoulders with IPA has introduced light hints of hops, fresh citrus, and floral notes that give the whiskey an entirely new dimension. Floral and herbal on the nose, with grapefruit citrus and subtle orchard fruits; light hops and citrus on the palate; and a lingering finish of fresh fruit and hops giving way to barley and Jameson’s signature smooth finish.

Floral and immediately inviting — herbal hops and grapefruit citrus notes lead, with subtle orchard fruits, wood shavings, and a little nuttiness adding depth and complexity. The IPA cask influence is present and distinctive, complementing rather than overpowering Jameson’s signature character.
Palate
Light hops and citrus carry through a palate of sweet herbal notes and delicate spicy tones — Jameson’s signature smooth, sweet mouth coating present throughout, with the IPA cask finish adding a fresh, lively dimension that is genuinely distinctive. The finish lingers with fresh fruit and hops, giving way to grains of barley and the smooth, satisfying Jameson finish.
