Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses Rosé 2025 is the promise of summer sunshine in a glass — and one of the most recognisable rosé bottles in the world, featuring a unique rose-shaped base created by a young designer from the prestigious École Boulle. A wine that presents itself like a bouquet of roses. Tender, pale, and brilliant with bluish reflections, the nose offers aromas of red fruit, blackcurrant, and redcurrant, with floral notes of rose and citrus and a grapefruit lift that completes the palette. The palate is fresh, greedy, and beautifully balanced, with great aromatic persistence and a clean, fruity finish. Grenache Noir, Cinsault, and Syrah from the varied soils of the Languedoc — hard limestone garrigue, schist, and river gravel — shaped by a warm, windy Mediterranean climate tempered by altitude and the moderating influence of the sea. The Mediterranean art of living, in every glass.

Tasting Notes

Appearance

Tender, pale, and brilliant with bluish reflections — the luminous, inviting colour of a Languedoc rosé crafted from Grenache Noir, Cinsault, and Syrah, evolving over time into shades of orange. Poured from one of the most iconic bottles in the world of rosé.

Aroma

Red fruit, blackcurrant, and redcurrant — with floral notes of rose and citrus, and a grapefruit lift that completes the palette. Fresh, fragrant, and characterfully Mediterranean, with the aromatic purity that careful pressing and cool fermentation deliver.

Palate

Fresh and greedy — red fruit, rose, and citrus, with great aromatic persistence and the fine balance that Grenache Noir, Cinsault, and Syrah from the varied soils of the Languedoc deliver. Clean, vibrant, and effortlessly enjoyable from the very first sip.

Pairs With

Serve at 10°C as an aperitif or alongside shellfish, subtly spicy dishes, grilled fish, summer salads, and soft cheeses — the perfect companion for toes in the sand, terrace dining, or any occasion that calls for the Mediterranean art of living.

Finish

Fresh and fruity — red fruit, rose, and citrus fading cleanly and invitingly, leaving a bright, balanced close that makes every glass an invitation to pour another. The South of France in a sip.

Winemaking Notes

Grenache Noir, Cinsault, and Syrah harvested separately to achieve optimum ripeness for each variety. Mechanical harvesting with on-board sorting; grapes destemmed, cooled to 8°C, and sent to press to extract the rosé must. Only the highest-quality first juices retained. Juices settled to the desired aromatic profile before fermentation over 15–30 days. Particular care taken to ensure colour and aromatic purity. After light fining, bottled early to preserve fresh, fruity character. Serve at 10°C.

Producer History

Gérard Bertrand is one of the South of France’s most celebrated and visionary wine producers — a champion of the Mediterranean art of living and a pioneer of organic and biodynamic winemaking in the Languedoc. The Côte des Roses range is grown on the highly varied soils of the Languedoc — hard limestone garrigue, schist, and river gravel — shaped by a warm, windy semi-arid Mediterranean climate with mild winters, tempered by altitude and the sea’s moderating influence. The iconic rose-shaped bottle base, created by a young designer from the École Boulle, makes Côte des Roses as beautiful on the table as it is in the glass. Fresh. Floral. Mineral. The South par excellence.
