“A definite contender for best value of the year, this is compelling evidence that one can drink extremely well, wines chockful of flavour, without breaking the bank. Opaque maroon in colour, on the nose we have notes of plums and mulberries, soy, tobacco leaves, coffee grinds, sarsaparilla and blackcurrants. There is a sleek texture through to the satiny tannins and the wine has excellent length. Seamless and finely balanced, this is delicious drinking now and will surely remain so for at least ten to fifteen years, if you can keep your hands off it that long. Cracking value.”
