Robert Mondavi Woodbridge Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic California red of genuine fruit focus and everyday drinking pleasure β€” born from Robert Mondavi’s 1979 vision of creating delicious wines at a price point accessible to all, from the Lodi region where his family’s story in California wine began. Medium-bodied and immediately appealing, with aromas and flavours of blackberry, dark cherry, toasted marshmallow, and spice. A Cabernet Sauvignon that pairs beautifully with grilled meats and suits every occasion.

Appearance

Deep ruby β€” the rich, inviting colour of a fruit-focused California Cabernet Sauvignon from the warm days and cool nights of Lodi.

Aroma

Blackberry and dark cherry lead an expressive and generous bouquet, with toasted marshmallow and spice adding warmth and complexity from careful oak maturation.

Palate

Medium-bodied and fruit-forward β€” blackberry, dark cherry, toasted marshmallow, and spice deliver a palate of genuine approachability and balance. Smooth and satisfying, with the fruit-focused character that defines the Woodbridge style.

Production Notes

Woodbridge Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted using small winery traditions β€” tasting all lots separately to determine their specific flavour profiles before blending, ensuring the final wine is fruit-focused and well-balanced. The Woodbridge winemaking team operates with the same vision Robert Mondavi established in 1979: smooth, approachable wines that deliver genuine quality at an accessible price.

Producer History

Robert Mondavi founded the iconic Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa Valley in 1966 β€” the first major winery built there since Prohibition. In 1979, he returned to Lodi, where his family had settled after his father Cesare identified it as California’s finest grape-growing region, to pursue his second vision: delicious wines at a price accessible to all. He acquired a local cooperative of grape growers and named the winery after a nearby town β€” and the Woodbridge Winery was born. Today, Lodi comprises 18% of California’s total wine grape production β€” more than Napa and Sonoma counties combined β€” with a Mediterranean-like climate of warm days and cool nights, shaped by cool maritime breezes drawn in from San Francisco Bay, that is ideal for growing premium grapes.
