Winemaking Notes

The Villain & Vixen Rosé 2025 is crafted with precision to showcase the purity of fruit and true varietal character. Grapes are destemmed directly to press and oxidatively handled to develop textural complexity whilst preserving vibrant fruit expression. Following cold settling and clean racking, fermentation takes place in stainless steel to maintain freshness and enhance the wine's natural elegance. This modern winemaking approach, championed by Head Winemaker Andrew Quin since 2008, focuses on creating textural wines with enhanced vibrancy of fruit and varietal characteristics. As villains against convention, the Villain & Vixen range favours vixen-like elegance over traditional styles.

Vintage Conditions

The 2025 vintage in the Barossa Valley delivered exceptional fruit from select vineyards across Western Barossa, Mt. Crawford and Williamstown. These diverse sites, beyond Hentley Farm's single vineyard estates, contribute to the wine's complexity and regional expression. The growing season provided ideal conditions for developing the vibrant strawberry, toffee apple and raspberry leaf characters that define this rosé, whilst maintaining the natural acidity essential for the wine's soft, fruit-forward profile. This vintage exemplifies the Villain & Vixen philosophy of crafting modern wines that express the surrounding terroirs of the renowned Barossa Valley estate with purity and precision.
