Bremerton Tamblyn 2021 is a skilfully crafted blend of four traditional varieties — named in recognition of the Willson family’s Cornish ancestors who migrated to Australia from Cornwall, England, and a tribute to the heritage that has shaped Bremerton since the beginning. Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure, Shiraz delivers bold berry flavours, Malbec contributes floral aroma and bright colour, and Merlot rounds the palate — each variety individually fermented and matured for 18 months in a combination of new and old French and American oak before blending and bottling. Vegan friendly. 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Shiraz, 6% Malbec, 5% Merlot.

Appearance

Deep ruby with the bright, vivid colour that Malbec brings to any blend — rich, concentrated, and immediately inviting.

Aroma

Floral and expressive — the Malbec’s violet and bramble lift opens a bouquet of genuine complexity, with Shiraz adding bold dark berry character and Cabernet Sauvignon providing the structural depth that anchors the blend.

Palate

Seamlessly integrated — bold berry flavours from the Shiraz and structure from the Cabernet Sauvignon are rounded and softened by the Merlot, with the Malbec’s floral character weaving through a palate of genuine depth and harmony. Eighteen months in French and American oak adds spice, complexity, and a finish of real length and satisfaction.

Pairs With

Roast lamb, beef short ribs, slow-braised duck, aged hard cheeses, and hearty Mediterranean dishes. A versatile and food-friendly Langhorne Creek red that suits the table as much as the occasion.

Winemaking Notes

Fruit for the 2021 Tamblyn was individually fermented by variety in open-top fermenters, allowing for optimal extraction of colour and flavour from each component. The wine was then matured for 18 months in a combination of new and old French and American oak barrels before final blending and bottling. Blend: 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Shiraz, 6% Malbec, 5% Merlot. Vegan friendly.

Producer History

The Tamblyn name is a tribute to the Willson family’s Cornish ancestors — their grandmother’s family, who migrated to Australia from Cornwall, England, and whose name lives on in one of Bremerton’s most celebrated blends. Bremerton Wines is a Willson family-owned estate in Langhorne Creek, South Australia, with 120 hectares of high-quality vineyards and James Halliday 5 Star Winery status for 17 consecutive years — placing Bremerton in the top 5% of all Australian wineries. Winemaker Rebecca Willson and Marketing Manager Lucy Willson have built Bremerton into one of the best-known and most respected brands from Langhorne Creek, with a range of wines that celebrate both the region and the family heritage behind them.
