Producer History
78 Degrees Distillery was founded in 2014 by Sacha La Forgia — an Adelaide Hills winemaker who spent more than six years travelling the world, working wine vintages, and immersing himself in the craft of distilling. It was during his travels through Italy that he met his mentor, known simply as ‘The Italian’, who encouraged him to return to Australia and start his own distillery. That conversation proved to be the catalyst for one of Australia’s most distinctive craft spirits operations — a distillery that brings a winemaker’s sensibility to the art of gin, with a grape spirit base, small-batch production, and an uncompromising focus on botanical quality and purity.
