Discover Premium Barolo Wines

Explore our curated selection of Barolo wines from Italy's prestigious Piedmont region. Known as the 'King of Wines', Barolo is crafted exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the rolling hills surrounding the village of Barolo in northwestern Italy.

The Barolo Wine Region

Nestled in the Langhe hills of Piedmont, the Barolo DOCG region benefits from a continental climate with warm summers and cold winters, moderated by morning fog that rolls in from the Tanaro River. The region's calcareous marl and sandstone soils, known locally as 'Tortonian', impart distinctive mineral qualities to the wines. This unique terroir, combined with strict DOCG regulations requiring minimum ageing of 38 months (including 18 months in oak), produces wines of exceptional complexity and longevity.

Nebbiolo: The Noble Grape

Barolo is made entirely from Nebbiolo, one of Italy's most revered grape varieties. The name derives from 'nebbia' (fog), referencing the autumn mists that blanket the vineyards during harvest. Nebbiolo produces wines with powerful tannins, high acidity, and remarkable ageing potential, developing complex aromas of rose, tar, truffle, dried herbs, and red fruits over time.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairing

Our Barolo wines showcase the variety's signature characteristics: garnet colour with orange hues, intense aromatics of cherry, rose petal, liquorice, and earthy notes, with a full-bodied palate balanced by firm tannins and bright acidity. These wines pair beautifully with rich dishes such as braised meats, game, truffle risotto, and aged cheeses.

We offer great value on authentic Italian Barolo wines, delivered direct to your door across Australia.
