Kreglinger Wine Estates is one of Tasmania's founding cool-climate wine producers, established at Pipers Brook in 1974. For fifty years the estate has produced wines that reflect the distinctive character of northern Tasmania's cool-climate vineyards — defined by volcanic soils, a temperate maritime climate and proximity to Bass Strait. Today Kreglinger remains family-owned, guided by the de Moor family of Launceston, who blend the European heritage of the Kreglinger name with a distinctly Tasmanian winemaking identity.

Over five decades, Kreglinger has helped establish Tasmania's reputation for premium cool-climate wine, particularly sparkling wine and Pinot Noir. Pipers Brook Vineyard was among the first estates to demonstrate that northern Tasmania could produce wines of genuine international quality — a legacy that continues to define the estate's approach today.

The Ranges

Pipers Brook Estate is the flagship range, produced from the estate's best vineyard sites at Pipers Brook. These wines showcase the estate's oldest vines, volcanic soils and cool maritime climate.

Kreglinger Sparkling is the estate's premium sparkling range, crafted using traditional methods from Tasmanian Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The cool climate and long growing season deliver the freshness, balance and elegance for which Tasmanian sparkling wine is renowned.

Ninth Island is the approachable, fruit-driven range from Kreglinger, named after the windswept seabird sanctuary in Bass Strait off Tasmania's north-east coast. Sourced from Pipers Brook and Strathlynn in the Tamar Valley, Ninth Island wines offer an accessible introduction to Tasmanian cool-climate character.

Pipers Tasmania is the estate's entry-level range, designed to showcase the freshness and approachability of Tasmanian fruit across a broad range of varieties and styles.

The Vineyards

Kreglinger's vineyards are situated on carefully selected sites in northern Tasmania, benefiting from volcanic soils, a cool maritime climate and long growing seasons that allow fruit to ripen slowly while retaining freshness. Many of the estate's key vineyard blocks are now more than 30 years old, helping produce wines with depth, concentration and complexity.
