Kreglinger Brut NV is an elegant traditional method sparkling wine from the cool maritime climate of Pipers Brook in Northern Tasmania — crafted by a family whose winemaking heritage stretches back to 1797 and whose Australian chapter began with the acquisition of Pipers Brook Vineyard in 2000. Pale straw with a persistent fine bead, fresh aromas of green apple, citrus blossom, and brioche, and a crisp, well-balanced palate of genuine structure and creamy lees complexity. A refined expression of Tasmanian terroir from one of the wine world’s most quietly distinguished family estates.

Appearance

Pale straw with brilliant clarity and a persistent fine bead — lively yet refined effervescence that rises gracefully through the glass, forming a delicate and elegant mousse.

Aroma

Fresh and inviting — green apple, citrus blossom, and white peach lead an expressive bouquet, with subtle notes of brioche and almond emerging from traditional method production, complemented by hints of lemon zest and delicate floral undertones.

Palate

Crisp and well-balanced with excellent structure — bright citrus flavours of lemon and grapefruit mingle with green apple and white stone fruit on a palate of genuine freshness and vibrancy. A creamy texture from extended lees ageing adds complexity, whilst refreshing acidity provides length and a clean, persistent finish with lingering citrus and subtle yeasty complexity.

Pairs With

Fresh oysters, smoked salmon, brie, camembert, seafood risotto, light canapés, and Asian cuisine. Also exceptional as an apéritif — a sparkling wine equally at home at the table or simply enjoyed on its own to celebrate any occasion.

Producer History

The Kreglinger story begins in Belgium in 1797, when George and Christian Kreglinger founded a family company that still holds trade registration number one in Antwerp to this day. In 1893, the family’s group of companies extended to Australia, establishing Kreglinger Australia. In 2000, Kreglinger Australia diversified into wine production with the acquisition of the majority ownership of Pipers Brook and Norfolk Rise Vineyards — bringing the suave and sophisticated European influences of a 200-year heritage to the pristine island state of Northern Tasmania and the isolated coastal plains of Mt Benson in South Australia. Since its foundation, Kreglinger Wine Estates has dedicated itself to being at the forefront of the Australian wine industry, spreading its vines from Antwerp to Southern Australia and proudly capturing the unique qualities of the land it now calls home.
