Producer History

Tío Pepe takes its name from Manuel María González Angel’s uncle José Angel y Vargas — affectionately known as Tío Pepe — whose passion for wine and hospitality inspired the creation of one of the world’s most iconic wine brands. González Byass, founded in Jerez de la Frontera in 1835, has been producing Tío Pepe for nearly two centuries, and it remains the benchmark by which all Fino Sherry is measured.
