Poliziano was founded in 1961 when Dino Carletti bought 22 hectares in his native land and started its infinite wine tradition. Its name is a tribute to each native of Montepulciano who is defined as Poliziano, among them the best known is the humanist and poet Angelo Ambrogini (1454-1494), called the "Poliziano", represented in the logo.
With the great knowledge of the Montepulciano tradition, the winemakers for almost twenty years, focused on the maximum expression of the wines letting the natural process of wine making shine through. In the last twenty years they have also dedicated themselves to the geological study of all plots, thus giving life to two "crus" of great notoriety, the complete elimination of chemicals in the vineyard, arriving step by step to sustainable agriculture and, from 2021, to certified organic wines.
The Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG by Poliziano is the result of a refined management; The cultivation is parcel, the mechanical stress on the grapes is reduced to a minimum, no additives are added and, ultimately, the ultimate goal is to have a wine as natural as possible. Aged for 6 months in stainless steel and, then, left to rest for another 3 in the bottle, it is a red of great elegance and depth.
