Guinness Draught Stout is the world's most iconic stout — distinctively black, rich and creamy, velvety in its finish, and defined by a harmony that has made it truly unique for over 260 years. Now brewed locally in Australia to the same recipe, character, and brewing standards that have defined Guinness since 1759, this is a stout of perfect balance: bitter counters sweet, malt arrives on cue to complement a base of roasted barley, and the unmistakable white head sits flush atop the dark beer just as the flavours counter and combine perfectly beneath it.

Brewed in Australia

Guinness Draught is now brewed locally in Australia — bringing the world's most iconic stout closer to home while maintaining the same recipe and brewing standards that have defined Guinness since Arthur Guinness signed his famous 9,000-year lease at St. James's Gate in Dublin in 1759. The distinctive black colour and creamy white head are the result of a brewing process using roasted barley, and the smooth, velvety character comes from the use of nitrogen rather than carbon dioxide — the innovation that defines Guinness Draught and sets it apart from every other stout in the world.

Appearance

Distinctively black with the unmistakable creamy white head — one of the most recognisable pours in the world, and as much a part of the Guinness experience as the taste itself.

Aroma

Sweet-smelling and inviting — coffee and malt lead a nose of genuine warmth and character, with roasted barley adding depth.

Palate

Smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced — bitter counters sweet as malt and roast characters deliver a velvety finish of real satisfaction. Rich and creamy, with a harmony that makes every sip as good as the last.

Food Pairing

Beef stew, oysters, aged cheddar, smoked meats, and dark chocolate. Also the essential companion to a full Irish breakfast.
