Glenfiddich Grand Château 31 Year Old is a limited edition Speyside single malt of extraordinary distinction — the first Glenfiddich release finished for an extended nine years in Bordeaux red wine casks, in partnership with internationally renowned French graffiti artist André Saraiva. Dark gold; warm cocooning vanilla, ripe cassis berry, and piquant nutty aromas on the nose; slow-caramelised cherries and apples with warming spice and toasted oak on the palate; and a finish of lasting depth and character. A refined fusion of Speyside and Bordeaux — fruity and floral at once, opulent yet earthy.

Colour

Dark gold — the deep, luminous colour of a 31-year-old Speyside single malt finished for nine years in Bordeaux red wine casks, with the richness and depth that three decades of patient maturation and an extended French oak finish deliver.

Nose

Warm and cocooning — vanilla, ripe cassis berry, and piquant nutty aromas. The unexpected and deeply satisfying marriage of Speyside character and Bordeaux influence, with the complexity and refinement that only 31 years of maturation and nine years of Bordeaux cask finishing can produce.

Palate

Slow-caramelised cherries and apples with warming spice and toasted oak — a refined fusion of flavours that is fruity and floral at once, opulent yet earthy. As Malt Master Brian Kinsman notes: “Bordeaux red wine casks are incredibly versatile sources of flavour and recognised widely for their outstanding quality, providing the perfect opportunity for experimentation to develop a profound spirit.”

Finish

Lasting depth and character — the long, complex finish of a whisky that has spent 31 years in oak and nine of those years absorbing the flavour and character of Bordeaux red wine casks. Profound, memorable, and deeply satisfying.

Crafted under the direction of Malt Master Brian Kinsman. Limited edition.

Producer History

Glenfiddich — Gaelic for “Valley of the Deer” — was founded in Dufftown, Speyside, in 1887 by William Grant and remains one of the world’s most celebrated and recognised single malt Scotch whisky distilleries. Grand Château is the fullest expression of Glenfiddich’s willingness to experiment and push the boundaries of what Speyside single malt can be — a 31-year-old whisky finished for nine years in Bordeaux red wine casks, created in partnership with French graffiti artist André Saraiva, whose signature graphic Mr. A wanders playfully through the vineyards of the scenic Toile de Jouy landscape on the bottle. “I am a lover of whisky and the connection to France with this bespoke liquid allowed for a huge amount of creativity.” — André Saraiva. Speyside meets Bordeaux. 31 years in the making.
