The palate is full and smooth, delivering generous flavours of blackberry, raspberry, and plum supported by gentle, supple tannins that provide structure without heaviness. Notes of spice, liquorice, and dried herbs weave through the fruit, whilst the finish is balanced and persistent, showcasing the wine's elegance and drinkability. This is a Côtes du Rhône that stands out for its refinement and approachability.

Winery & Vintage Info

The Delas Côtes Du Rhône Saint-Esprit vineyards span approximately 41,200 hectares, equivalent to 101,764 acres.

The climate is Mediterranean, influenced by the dominant "Mistral" wind. This fierce yet beneficial wind, essential for vine development, results from the atmospheric pressure difference between the Southern and Northern Rhône. The region also features highly seasonal rainfall, warm temperatures, and plentiful sunshine.

Average annual production yields around 500,000 bottles (75 cl), primarily from Syrah, with Grenache also used.

All grapes are de-stemmed. Fermentation and maceration occur in sealed vats for about 15 days, with daily pump-overs to ensure optimal extraction. Fermentation temperature is carefully controlled, maintained between 28°C and 30°C (82°F and 86°F). After de-vatting, pressing, and racking, malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats.

The wines are stored in vats to retain their fruit aromas and are regularly racked to allow natural stabilisation of their components. The "Saint Esprit" cuvée is bottled after eight months of maturation. Winery Notes
