Winemaking Notes

The grapes were hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and carefully sorted before gentle destemming. Fermentation took place in small open-top fermenters with a combination of whole berries and crushed fruit to develop complexity whilst preserving the delicate aromatics. The wine was aged in French oak barrels, with a judicious proportion of new oak to add structure without overwhelming the pure fruit character. Minimal intervention winemaking techniques were employed to showcase the exceptional quality of the Bellarine Peninsula fruit.

Vintage Conditions

The 2024 vintage in Geelong's Bellarine Peninsula was characterised by ideal growing conditions that produced wines of exceptional purity and balance. Warm, sunny days were tempered by cool maritime breezes from Bass Strait, allowing the grapes to develop concentrated flavours whilst retaining natural acidity and elegant tannin structure. The extended ripening period enabled full phenolic maturity, resulting in pinot noir with remarkable depth, silky texture and outstanding ageing potential. The combination of ancient volcanic soils, cool-climate viticulture and sustainable vineyard practices produced wines with exceptional varietal character and sense of place.
