Clase Azul Tequila Añejo is proof that the best things in life take time — its intense amber colour and complex aromas the result of a magnificent 25-month journey in American whiskey casks, and its hand-painted decanter a tribute to the Mazahua indigenous culture of Mexico. Amber with copper highlights, with aromas of toffee, cinnamon, clove, roasted hazelnut, Mexican vanilla, orange marmalade, quince, and toasted oak, and a palate of nutmeg, clove, orange marmalade, and toasted oak with a silky mouthfeel. An expression that combines art, history, and tequila of the highest quality — one that truly honours Mexican culture.

Appearance

Intense amber with copper highlights — the deep, rich colour of a tequila that has spent 25 months in American whiskey casks, with a great body and a presence that commands attention.

Aroma

Toffee, cinnamon, clove, roasted hazelnut, Mexican vanilla, orange marmalade, quince, and toasted oak — a complex and layered bouquet of genuine depth and sophistication, shaped by 25 months of patient ageing in American whiskey casks.

Palate

Nutmeg, clove, orange marmalade, and toasted oak deliver a palate of silky elegance and genuine complexity — rich, refined, and beautifully balanced, with a mouthfeel that speaks of the extraordinary care and time invested in every bottle of Clase Azul Añejo.

Serving Suggestions

Neat, at room temperature, in a fine crystal glass — a tequila aged for 25 months deserves nothing less. A sipping añejo of the highest order.

The Bottle

The Clase Azul Añejo decanter tells the story of its origin in every detail. At the bottom, spirals superimposed on raw clay symbolise the earth’s fertility. The thin blue line represents the water that gives life to the agave. In the centre, the piña symbolises the heart and soul of tequila. On the back, the four-petalled flower is the traditional Mazahua representation of the Sun and its fullness in the centre of space and time. The decanter is finished with the delicate and distinctive feathered design of the Clase Azul family — painted in 24K gold.

Production Notes

Clase Azul Añejo is crafted using the same artisanal elaboration that defines every expression in the Clase Azul range — 100% Blue Agave from the highlands of Los Altos in Jalisco, slow-cooked in traditional stone ovens, fermented with proprietary yeast, distilled, and then aged for 25 months in American whiskey casks to develop the intense amber colour, copper highlights, and extraordinary complexity that make the Añejo a tribute to both Mexican culture and the art of tequila-making at its finest.

Producer History

Clase Azul is 100% authentic in every way — from the superior tequila to the unique, beautifully handcrafted bottles created one at a time by over 100 artisans in the small Mexican town of Santa Maria Canchesda. Produced at one of the highest points in Los Altos, the highlands of Jalisco, in the town of Jesús María — a location that contributes directly to the unique flavour profile that has made Clase Azul one of the most celebrated ultra-premium tequila producers in the world.
