Winery & Vintage Info
Vintage Conditions
The 2024 vintage in Provence's Alpilles mountains presented exceptional conditions for rosé production, with a balanced growing season that allowed the estate's high-altitude vineyards to develop optimal fruit character. Situated at 350-400 metres elevation on clay-limestone soils enriched with red earth, gravel, and flint, the vines benefited from the region's distinctive terroir and Mediterranean climate. The combination of warm days and cool nights at altitude preserved the grapes' natural acidity whilst encouraging the development of delicate aromatics and concentrated flavours. Careful vineyard management throughout the season ensured that the Grenache Noir, Syrah, Cinsault, Semillon, and Rolle grapes reached perfect phenolic ripeness, capturing the essence of this historic Provençal estate.
Winemaking Notes
Château d'Estoublon Roseblood Rosé 2024 is crafted using direct pressing techniques that gently extract colour and flavour whilst preserving the wine's delicate character and pale hue. Following pressing, the juice undergoes cold alcoholic fermentation to retain the wine's vibrant aromatics and fresh fruit profile. Vinification and maturation take place in stainless steel and concrete vats, allowing the pure expression of fruit and terroir to shine through without oak influence. The wine is aged for several weeks on fine lees, a traditional technique that adds texture, complexity, and depth to the palate whilst enhancing the wine's mineral backbone. This meticulous approach results in an expressive, harmoniously balanced rosé that embodies the elegance and refinement of Château d'Estoublon's 500-year winemaking heritage.
