Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs NV 750mL showcases the House's pioneering passion for Chardonnay, a legacy dating back to 1949. This exceptional cuvée unites two hallmarks of Charles Heidsieck expertise: crafting outstanding white wines and the masterful art of blending wines from multiple years and terroirs.

Appearance

Brilliant pale gold with delicate, persistent bubbles. The elegant white and gold livery of the bottle perfectly reflects the signature Chardonnay within.

Aroma

Fresh and vibrant on the nose, revealing layers of white flowers, citrus blossom, and green apple. Subtle notes of brioche and toasted almonds add complexity, whilst hints of white peach and pear provide generous fruit character.

Palate

The palate is both deep and delicate, offering a beautiful balance of freshness and richness. Crisp acidity carries flavours of lemon zest, white stone fruits, and subtle minerality. The finish is elegant and refined, with lingering notes of vanilla and a distinctive chalky texture that speaks to its terroir.

Winery & Vintage Info

Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs NV is crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grapes sourced from premier and grand cru vineyards across the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims. The cuvée represents the House's mastery of blending, combining reserve wines from multiple vintages—some aged for over a decade in the historic Crayères chalk cellars beneath Reims. Following the primary fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation to soften its natural acidity, before spending a minimum of three years ageing on lees. This extended maturation develops the wine's characteristic complexity, imparting subtle brioche and toasted almond notes whilst preserving the vibrant freshness that defines this elegant expression.

As a non-vintage Champagne, this Blanc de Blancs draws upon a carefully curated library of reserve wines, allowing the Chef de Cave to maintain consistency and complexity regardless of individual harvest variations. The blend typically incorporates wines from 40 to 50 different crus and spans multiple years, with reserve wines comprising approximately 40% of the final assemblage. This approach enables the House to transcend the limitations of any single vintage, instead showcasing the quintessential character of Chardonnay across diverse terroirs and seasons. The result is a wine that expresses both the House style and the inherent elegance of the Chardonnay grape, delivering remarkable depth and finesse year after year.
