This exceptional non-vintage expression demonstrates Domaine Chandon's commitment to quality and consistency.

Appearance

Straw yellow with flashes of green and a fine persistent bead, displaying brilliant clarity and the hallmarks of quality traditional method sparkling wine craftsmanship.

Aroma

The nose reveals a bright and fresh fruit bouquet of citrus blossom, subtle pear, and white nectarine, beautifully combined with savoury characters of roasted nuts and delicate spices. This complex aromatic profile creates an inviting and sophisticated bouquet that speaks to the wine's careful blending and time on lees.

Palate

The entry is soft with generous primary fruit characters that unfold gracefully on the palate. A creamy mid-palate offers delightful notes of nougat and nectarines, adding richness and texture. The wine extends to a lingering and crisp brut finish that provides refreshing balance and elegance. This harmonious interplay between fruit purity, creamy texture, and vibrant acidity creates a wonderfully refined sparkling wine with excellent versatility.

Winemaking Notes
Chandon Brut NV is crafted using the traditional method from Chardonnay (approximately 60%) and Pinot Noir sourced from premium cool-climate vineyards across Victoria's Yarra Valley, Strathbogie, King and Buffalo Valleys, and South Australia's Coonawarra. The winemaking team assembles up to 80 individual base wines with one to three-year-old reserve wines (comprising over 20% of the blend) stored in a combination of large oak barrels, barriques, and stainless steel. Following secondary fermentation, the wine is aged on lees for 15 to 18 months, contributing complex savoury aromas and flavours. After riddling and disgorgement, a small dosage is added, followed by a further three months' bottle age before release.

Vintage Conditions
As a non-vintage expression, Chandon Brut showcases the house's commitment to consistency and complexity through meticulous blending. The diversity of vineyard sites—varying in altitude, age, and aspect across southern Australia's premier cool-climate regions—provides the winemaking team with an extensive palette of blending options. Grapes are harvested from mid-February through March, with each vineyard batch kept separate to optimise structure and complexity. This multi-regional approach, combined with the inclusion of carefully selected reserve wines, ensures the Brut maintains its signature bright fruit character, creamy texture, and elegant finish year after year.
